Mauritius Accreditation Service (Certification Body
Accreditation Fees) Regulations 2007

[GN 19 of 2007 – 17 February 2007] [Section 14]

1. These regulations may be cited as the Mauritius Accreditation Service (Certification Body Accreditation Fees) Regulations 2007.

2. In these regulations –

“Act” means the Mauritius Accreditation Service Act;

“assessment” means a set of activities, including a visit, undertaken by MAURITAS to ensure that an applicant or accredited body operates in compliance with the accreditation requirements set by MAURITAS;

“assessor” means a person assigned by an accreditation body to perform, alone or as part of an assessment team, an assessment of a conformity assessment body;

“expert” means a person assigned by an accreditation body to provide specific knowledge or expertise with respect to scope of accreditation to be assessed;

“programme” means an accreditation programme operated by MAURITAS as specified in the First Schedule.

3. These regulations shall apply to certification bodies only.

4. For the purpose of sections 8(3)(c) and 10(2) of the Act, the fees payable shall be those specified in Part I and Part II of the Second Schedule.

5. An application fee payable under section 10(2) of the Act shall be non-refundable.

6. A certification body shall pay, where applicable, travel and accomodation costs, and travelling time in addition to the assessment fee.
