Mauritius Examinations Syndicate Regulations 1984

[GN 165 of 1984 – 3 November 1984] [Section 14]

1. These regulations may be cited as the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate Regulations 1984.

2. In these regulations –

"Act" means the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate Act.

3. Every employee of the Syndicate and every person recruited temporarily by the Syndicate on the occasion of the organisation or conduct of an examination –

(a) shall, before he begins to perform his duties under the Act or as soon as is practicable and on being required to do so by the Director, take an oath of fidelity and secrecy in the form specified in the Schedule;

(b) shall maintain and aid in maintaining the secrecy of any matter which comes to his knowledge in the performance of his duties under the Act;

(c) shall not, except for the purpose of administering the Act, communicate to any person any confidential information;

(d) where he is not authorised to have in his possession or to have access to confidential information, shall –

 (i) not seek, either directly or indirectly, to obtain such information;

 (ii) on receiving such information forthwith inform the Director of the fact.
