Radiation Protection (Conventions) Regulations 2013

[GN 22 of 2013 – 1 February 2013] [Section 24]

1. These regulations may be cited as the Radiation Protection (Conventions) Regulations 2013.

2. In these regulations –

"Act" means the Radiation Protection Act;

"Conventions" means the Conventions specified in the Schedule.

3. Notwithstanding any other enactment, the Conventions shall have the force of law in Mauritius.

4. Any word in the Act which is defined in one of the Conventions shall have the same meaning as in that Convention.

Radiation Protection (Licensing of Radiation Practices) Regulations 2013

[GN 256 of 2013 – 1 November 2013] [Section 24]

1. These regulations may be cited as the Radiation Protection (Licensing of Radiation Practices) Regulations 2013.

2. In these regulations –

"Act" means the Radiation Protection Act.

3. (1) The Authority may grant or refuse an application made under section 11(3) or 12(1) of the Act.

(2) Where the Authority grants an application under section 11(3) or 12(1) of the Act, it shall issue a licence to the applicant in such form as it may approve.

(3) Any licence issued under paragraph (2) shall not be transferable and shall be valid for such period as may be specified in the licence.

4. For the purpose of sections 11(6)(b) and 12(4) of the Act, the fee for the issue and renewal of a licence shall be as specified in the Schedule.

5. Any application made under section 12(1) of the Act for the renewal of a licence shall be submitted to the Authority at least 30 days before the expiry of the licence.

6. No licensee shall continue a practice after his licence has expired unless his licence is renewed.
